10/31/2024 Fulton, MO- Westminster College's women's soccer team wrapped up their regular season with a 0-0 draw against Webster University on Wednesday at Kent & Judith Mueller Stadium. Both teams demonstrated strong defensive tactics, resulting in a match where neither side could break the deadlock. 

Webster University, holding an 11-1-4 overall record, applied consistent pressure throughout the game. They took 10 shots with 4 on target, but Westminster's goalkeeper, Reagan Chigas, was up to the task, making all 4 saves to keep her team level. The Blue Jays managed 4 shots, including one on target, but couldn't find the back of the net. 

The match was competitive, evidenced by a total of 22 fouls—9 by Westminster and 13 by Webster. Corner kicks were plentiful, with Westminster earning 4 and Webster 9, yet neither team capitalized on these opportunities. 

With this result, Westminster finishes the regular season as the number three seed in the SLIAC conference, boasting a 6-7-3 overall record and a 4-2-2 mark in conference play. The Blue Jays now turn their attention to the conference tournament, where they will host the number six seed, MUW, on Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 PM in the quarterfinals. 

As they prepare for the postseason, Westminster will look to maintain their defensive strength while seeking ways to convert their chances into goals to advance further in the tournament.
