Westminster Inducts 13 Into Chi Alpha Sigma

The Westminster athletic department inducted 13 new members into the Chi Alpha Sigma Missouri Alpha Chapter at Westminster College on Friday, April 10, 2015. Twenty-one Chi Alpha Sigma members were also recognized at the ceremony for their inductions in 2014.

Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, recognizes student-athletes that have outstanding scholarship, excellent character and citizenship, and have earned an athletic letter. The student-athletes inducted maintained a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior or senior years. They must be a part of a varsity team at Westminster for three years before being considered for the award, and transfers have to be in their second year of eligibility at Westminster.  

Westminster joined the National College Athlete Honor Society in 2002. There are currently 213 members in the Missouri Alpha Chapter at Westminster College. The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter winners at the collegiate level.
