St. Louis, Mo 3/13/2024- The Westminster College softball team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri for a midweek non-conference doubleheader against Harris-Stowe State University on Wednesday. The Blue Jays would win game one 17-3 after scoring 5 runs in the top of the 4th and 7 runs in the top of the 7th. Westminster would complete the sweep by winning game 2, 7-0. This would be the Blue Jays' first wins of the season and improved to 2-10 on the year.
Game One: Box Score
- The Blue Jay bats were hot, scoring a season-high 17 runs in the game. The Blue Jays would score early and often, putting up 1 run in the top of the 2nd and 2 runs in the top of the 3rd. They would plate 5 runs in the top of the 4th to go up 8-0. Westminster made it 10-0 in the top of the 2nd before the Hornets scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th to keep the game alive. In the top of the 7th, the Blue Jays scored 7 runs in the inning to win the game 17-3.
- Haley Miller got the start on the mound, and she pitched 6 innings, giving up 1 hit and striking out 15 batters. Miller improves to 1-2 on the season.

Game Two: Box Score
- Westminster would keep rolling on offense into game two. Emily Esquivel got things started with a leadoff single to center field. Madelynn Kordik moved Esquivel up with a sacrifice bunt. Eva Gannon smacked an RBI single to right field to score Esquivel and put the Blue Jays on top 1-0.
- The Blue Jays plated 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning after Maddie Marrero and Emily Esquivel hit back-to-back RBI singles to score Kendall Weber and Mia Turner to make it 3-0.
- Ellie Bedsworth smashed a 2-run home run to left field, the first home run of her career to put Westminster up 5-0.
- Bedsworth would deliver again in the top of the 7th to score two more runs and secure the 7-0 win.
- Payton Dudenhoeffer started the game and pitched all 7 innings. She gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2 batters. She improves to 1-4 on the season.
