Blue Jays Picked Second in SLIAC Pre-season Men's Basketball Coaches Poll

Head Coach Matt Mitchell and his Westminster College Blue Jays men's basketball team was selected by the leagues coaches to finish second in this years SLIAC men's basketball race.  The Blue Jays received 38 points in the poll and two first place votes. The Blue Jays return four starters from last years team and nine letter winners. 

Fontbonne University was voted the favorite for this years championship compiling 45 points and three first place votes.  Greenville University and Webster University, last years regular and post season champions, tied for third place with 36 points while Greenville picked up two first place votes. Blackburn was tabbed to finish fifth with 24 points. Eureka College was sixth with 22 points. Iowa Wesleyan University, who is in their last season as a member of the SLIAC, finished seventh in the poll with 13 points.  Rounding out the poll was Spalding University with 10 points in eighth place.
