Westminster Men's Golf Competes at Evangel Spring Invite

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Westminster men's golf team opened their spring season at the Evangel Spring Invite at the Rivercut Golf Course over the past two days. The Blue Jays finished sixth out of seven teams at the event.

Zane West-Derby was the top finisher for the Blue Jays, finishing tied for eighth after shooting a 157. West-Derby shot a 77 in the first round on Monday and entered today's round tied at for third.

Aubrey Nelson and Kurt Matheney rounded out the top three for Westminster. Nelson shot a 173 to finish tied for 28th and Matheny shot a 174 to tie for 30th.

Andrew Bennett and Corey Schmidt also competed for Westminster, finishing in 39th and 41st respectively.

The next event for the Blue Jays is the William Woods Spring Invitational on March 30-31 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
