11/9/2024 St. Louis, Mo- The Westminster College men's wrestling team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday to compete in the Spartan Duals, hosted by Missouri Baptist. The Blue Jays faced off against the host Spartans in the season opener and lost the dual 37-14. They would then square off against St. Ambrose University and lost a closing fought dual 26-23 that came down to the final match to decide a winner. The Blue Jays start the season 0-2 as a team, but Austen Wetzel and Cole Harrell start the season 2-0 after winning both their matchups on the day. Harrell defeated two of the top 25 ranked wrestlers in the NAIA's 197-pound weight class. The Blue Jays are back in action on November 24th when they head to Warrensburg, Missouri, to compete in the UCM Open.
