Kuykendall Captures Two SLIAC Track Titles

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Jessie Kuykendall ran to two first-place finishes at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship meet, taking wins in the 10,000 meters and the 5,000 meters.

The junior tallied the win in the 10,000 meters by nearly three minutes over the second-place finisher, crossing the finish line after 38 minutes, nine seconds. 

In the 5,000 meters, Kuykendall again took another commanding win, out-running her closest competitor by 24 seconds, finished in 18:38.33. 

Kuykendall earned 20 of the team's 28 points with her two wins. 

Taylor Howard earned the other eight points for Westminster, tallying four points in the pole vault and taking fourth, taking fifth in the triple jump for one point, fifth in the javelin for two points, and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with one point. The team's 28 points landed them in 5th place. 

The men's team took 6th, earning three points by finishing fifth in the 4x400 meter relay and sixth in the 4x100 meter relay.
