FULTON, Mo. - Westminster volleyball fell to No. 9 Wash U 3-0 in the last home game of the year, in which the team honored senior Micha Frasher and Bridget Ringwald.
The Blue Jays move to an even 12-12 overall with the non-conference loss.
Despite the loss, the Blue Jays took the nationall-ranked opponent to extra points in the first set of the game, eventually falling 26-24.
After falling quickly behind in the second set, the Blue Jays fell 25-13, but recovered in the third set, getting out to a fast start and holding a lead until late in the match, when the Bears took over to win 25-19.
Morgan Diehl led the offense with 11 kills, the lone Blue Jay in double figures. Teresa Becker assisted on 25 kills, while Ringwald, Becker, and Allie Kennebeck added double-digit digs.
Westminster plays its last regular season match Saturday at Principia at 1 p.m.
