FULTON, Mo. - Westminster baseball completed the weekend sweep of Iowa Wesleyan after the team's 8-4 Sunday victory.
Westminster improves to 11-8 overall and 6-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Blue Jays got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning, after a Tiger error to score Nick Bohlmann from third.
They added three more runs in the second inning to get out to a fast start. Adam Mundle and Ryan Clavin each added RBI singles to continue their strong hitting days from Saturday, and Bohlmann added a hard hit ball to center for a sacrifice fly, putting Westminster up 4-0 after two.
A Clavin double in the fourth added another run to make the score 5-0, but the Tiger finally responded in the top of the fifth with a three-run homerun to put themselves back in the game at 5-3.
The Blue Jays responded with a three-run bottom of the six inning on an RBI single from Bohlmann, an RBI double from Zach Eisenreich, and Bohlmann scored on a Tiger error to increase the lead to 8-3.
The Tigers added one more run in the bottom fo the seventh to make the final score 8-4.
Eisenreich led the day offensively, going 3-4 on the day with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Bohlmann, Clavin, and Price eached added two RBI on the day.
Andrew Boessen earned the win on the mound to improve to 2-2 on the year. He went for 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out six.
Westminster travels to Greenville Wednesday to makeup a previously postpononed doubleheader.
