FULTON, Mo. - Westminster football will celebrate its nine graduating seniors during the last home game of the season against Iowa Wesleyan this Saturday.
The Blue Jays will look to stay undefeated at home and post a winning record on the season with a win.
Along with Senior Day, Westminster football also will honor servicemen and women with their Salute to Service game.
Listed below are the nine seniors to be honored in a pregame ceremony and their accomplishments.
Chase Abbington: While Abbington has only been with the Blue Jays for this season, his impact has been felt on the offensive side of the ball. The senior running back and wide receiver combo has totaled 97 carries on the year for 339 yards. He leads the team in receptions with 25 for 257 total yards. Abbington is also the team leader in all-purpose yards with 922 for over 100 yards per game. Abbington has posted the squad's long kick return for a touchdown this season at 85 yards. A sports management major, Abbington wants to coach and start a small business upon graduation.
Latif Adams: Adams holds almost every rushing record that Westminster has to offer, including breaking the career rushing record last season. His current total is 3,628 yards for an average of 95 yards per game. In his sophomore season, Adams broke the season rushing record, running for an impressive 1,492 yards to lead the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Adams is also the Westminster leader in gameday rushing touchdowns, season rushing touchdowns, career rushing touchdowns, and total career carries. Adams was named the UMAC Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and earned a spot on the UMAC second team as a junior. A business administration major, Adams plans to create a small business upon graduation.
Sean Freeman: In his four years with the Blue Jays, the linebacker has seen action in 26 games, tallying 150 tackles including 67 solo tackles. He's recorded 1.5 sacks for a loss of four yards, and 10.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards. He's also made two fumble recoveries and two pass breakups. This season, he is fourth on the team in tackles with 49. A security studies major, Freeman plans to join the army and move back to Oregon.
Antoine Harris: Harris has appeared in 25 games for Westminster and has been a force to reckon with in the backfield. He's made 46 total tackles, and 12 pass breakups. He's also grabbed four receptions and returned those for 75 yards. Harris has also forced one fumble and recovered two. Harris is a social entrepreneurship major and plans to take a position with mass mutual or attend graduate school after graduation.
Clinton Holden: As an offensive lineman, Holden has been part of an offense that has put up 23 points per game and over 300 yards per game, scoring 31 total touchdowns on the year. An information technology major with a minor in coaching, Holden will work towards a master's degree upon graduation.
Kole Rackers: Rackers has played in 36 games in a Blue Jay uniform over the last four years, making 43 tackles, including 23 solo. Rackers has also recorded 5.5 tackles for a loss of 22 yards, one interception, and three pass breakups. A sports management major, Rackers would like to go into coaching upon graduation.
Zach Roseman: In his three years playing for Westminster, Roseman has appeared in 28 games, making 161 tackles, including 99 solo tackles. He's also tallied one sack and 14 tackles for a loss of 39 yards. He's also forced three fumbles, recovered four fumbles, and recorded 10 pass breakups. This season as a punter, Roseman has made 44 punts for an average of 32.8 yards. An accounting major, Roseman plans to pass his CPA after graduating and then go on vacation.
Phillip Shoults: Shoults has been a staple in the Blue Jay offensive line for the last four years. In those years, Shoults has appeared in 12 games as an offensive lineman and has been an integral part in the team's offensive success, including the over 50 touchdowns scored in the last two years. Upon graduation with a history degree, Shoults would like to coach and teach.
Nolan Wood: Before being sideline by injuries, Wood played in nine games in his two seasons in a Blue Jay uniform. During that time, he tallied 19 tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. Now, Wood serves as an athletic trainer for the team. An exercise science major, Wood plans to attend Missouri State to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
