MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Despite a lightning delay, Westminster men's soccer defeated Hendrix College with four goals from four separate players resulting in a 4-1 victory.

The Blue Jays controlled the match from the start and did not let up their pressure for the full 90 minutes.

"We had an excellent first half," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "I thought our discipline, movement, and decision-making were great."

In the 21st minute, Eli Sherman tallied the first goal of the match on an assist from Daniel Barone, marking his first goal of the season.

Drake Trease didn't wait long to add to the Sherman's goal in the 36th minute, making sure the Blue Jays had a healthy 2-0 lead going into the half.

Westminster came out at the half looking to continue to bring pressure against Hendrix, and Dustin Seibolt did just that with a goal of his own in the 46th minute right out of the gates.

Kyle Collins assured victory for the Blue Jays in the 56th minute on an unassisted goal to make the lead 4-0. Mohammed Ali of Hendrix added a late to make the final score 4-1.

"We had a great start to the second half but started to fade as the half progressed," said Galla. "We finished strong, and at the end of the day I'm really happy with our performance."

The Blue Jays outshot Hendrix 20-8. Westminster returns to action Sunday at Rhodes at 2 p.m.
