LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Westminster men's soccer lost a 1-0 decision against SLIAC opponent Spalding for its first conference loss of the year.

Westminster falls to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC. The Eagles improve to 4-6 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

"Unfortunately we got off to a slow start and were outworked for the first 25 minutes," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "After falling down 1-0, we started to find out rhythm in possession and started to create some opportunities, but couldn't find the back of the net."

Osman Hussein scored the lone goal for either team in the 23rd minute.

The Blue Jays outshot the Eagles 17-9, with four shots from Eli Sherman

Ben Chesher started in goal and made one save.

Westminster returns home for Homecoming Wednesday against Webster and Saturday against Eureka. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.
