FULTON, Mo. - Westminster men's soccer picks up its second win in the conference with a 5-2 victory over Greenville.

The Blue Jays improve to 3-6-1 on the year and 2-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

"I thought we played well for a vast majority of the night," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "Outside of two small lapses, we did a great job of getting in behind their backline and creating quality chances."

Westminster picked up the opening three goals in the first half, opening the match in a dominating fashion.

The first goal was scored in the 17th minute from Patrick Wisnewski, who received the ball on a flick from Austin Chandler in the box. 

In the 33rd minute, Mauricio Mateo added a second goal on an assist from Blake Hausman.

It was Hausman who picked up the most impressive goal of the day on a free kick from just inside the midfield point. He blasted a ball that sailed past the Panther goalkeeper to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Blue Jays. 

The Panthers were able to pick up one goal before the half, going into the locker rooms after 45 minutes with Westminster having the 3-1 advantage. 

Westminster opened the half with a strong defensive effort, both teams going scoreless for the opening 15 minutes. It was the Panthers who opened up second-half scoring to make the score a dangerous 3-2. 

The Blue Jays quickly took care of the close score, starting with a ball by Phillip Udinyiwe in the corner that curved in for a goal helped in by Cooper Smith. 

A Brandon Rettke goal in the 83rd minute sealed the Blue Jays' fate with a victory, 5-2. 

Westminster continues its homestand with a match Saturday against MacMurray.
