Blue Jays Compete In Illinois College Hilltop Classic 

Jacksonville, IL 2/16/2024- The Westminster College men's and women's track and field teams were back at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois for their second indoor meet as they participated in the IC Hilltop Classic. The Blue Jays would continue to break school records with Kalie Strayhorn breaking her record in the 60-and 200-meter dash. Emma Braby improved her shot-put record. Elijah Teal set a new school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.82, breaking the old record of 54.45 set in 2017 by Ryan Dyer.  

Women's Track and Field Results  

Kalie Strayhorn placed 5th overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.86 seconds. Strayhorn placed 7th overall in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 8.04 seconds. 

Emma Braby placed 13th in the shot put with a distance of 10.57 meters.  

Moenasia Sidique placed 19th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.29. Sidique finished 21st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.31 seconds.  

 

Men's Track and Field Results  

Elijah Teal placed 5th with a time of 52.82 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Teal placed 4th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.18 seconds.  

Isaac Armour-Dozier finished 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.98 seconds. He also placed 28th in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 25.75 seconds.  

Michael Giles placed 18th in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:10.05. He would then place 28th in the 3000-meter run at 9:38.37.  

Bryce Schrader finished 21st in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.72 seconds. He also placed 24th in the 200-meter dash.  

Lane Martin placed 29th in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:34.03  

Ben Wallace placed 23rd with a time of 8.05 seconds in the 60-meter dash. He would also place 30th overall with 26.74 seconds in the 200-meter dash.  

The Blue Jays will be in action next weekend, Saturday, February 24th as they will compete in the SLIAC Indoor Conference Meet hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Illinois.
