Blue Jays Compete at Greenville Select Meet, StClair and Powel-Qualo win events

Greenville, Ill., April 17, 2021 - The Westminster College women's track and field team traveled to compete at the Greenville Select Track Meet on Saturday. This marked the first time that the team had close to its full complement of competitors. It was a banner day for several Blue Jays.  The Day was highlighted by Haleigh StClair and Avylina Powell-Qualo who won the Javelin and High Jump events at the meet.

Haleigh StClair threw a meet best 99-06 in the Javelin and also finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 81-05.

Powell-Qualo cleared 5-04.25 to win the meets high jump competition.  Her winning mark was 6 inches higher than the second-place finisher.

Katy Allen finished 6th in the long jump for the Blue Jays with a jump of 15-03.25.  Allen also recorded a 4th place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 30-03.50.

Gracie Hamrick finished in 4 th place in the 400 Meter Run with a time of 1:05.92. She also competed in the 200 Meter Run on Saturday.

Kate Rable finished 12th in the 400 Meter Run with a time of 1:14.10.

The meet was not scored as a team meet. The Blue Jays will be back on the track this coming Thursday at Truman State University at the Truman State Twilight Meet.
