Blue Jays Selected Tri-Favorites in SLIAC Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll

Fulton, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released its 2021 Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll and the Blue Jays collected three first place votes on the way to being voted one of the tri-favorites to take home this years title.  The Blue Jays garnered 43 points in the poll and found themselves tied with Webster University who also collected three first place votes and 43 points.  Greenville University, last year's SLIAC Regular Season Champs, also received 43 points and two first place votes to create the three way tie for the top spot. 

Along with the team recognition, two Blue Jays found themselves recognized as players to watch this season. 2019 SLIAC First Team All-Conference and reigning SLIAC Newcomer of the Year Eryka Wanyonyi and 2019 SLIAC Second Team All Conference middle Natalie Needy were both named to the 2021 SLIAC Preseason Watch List.

Head Coach Natalia Koryzna and her defending SLIAC Tournament Champion Blue Jays will kick off a their long awaited season on Saturday, February 6 in St. Louis at perennial power, Webster University. The first serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.  The entire volleyball schedule can be found HERE.  

At this time due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be no spectators allowed at any Westminster College indoor sporting events(Volleyball, Basketball, and Wrestling).
