Columbia, MO, 10/1/21 – The Westminster College women's cross-country team, under new head coach Tyler Yunk, competed at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri.  The Blue Jays, who do not have enough team members to qualify for a team score, competed in the open division.  The Blue Jays were the only NCAA Division III program at the meet. Two Jays tackled the SEC course and one set a personal record for the 6K course.

Sophomore Tristan Folkner (Florissant, MO / McCluer North) covered the 6K course in 32:01.3, a personal best for her.  This was good for an 80th place finish.

Freshman Moenaisa Sidique (Mexico, MO / Mexico) was running well in her first college meet just after the 3K mark of the race she experienced an injury that forced her to withdraw from the race.  At the time, she was running in the middle of the pack for the race.

The Blue Jays will be back on the course next Friday October 8th when they travel to SLIAC rival Principia College to compete in the Cowbell Classic.
