Blue Jays Picked Fifth in SLIAC Pre-season Women's Basketball Coaches Poll

Fulton, Mo. - Head Coach Talisha Washington and her Westminster College Blue Jays women's basketball team was selected by the leagues coaches to finish fifth in this years SLIAC women's basketball race.  The Blue Jays received 35 points in the poll. The Blue Jays return three starters from last years team and seven letter winners. 

Webster University, who won last years SLIAC regular season and SLIAC Tournament championships, was voted the clear favorite for this years championship compiling 56 points and seven first place votes.  Spalding University checked in at number two in the poll with 44 points and one first place vote. Greenville University received 41 points good for third place. Fontbonne University was tabbed fourth with 38 points just ahead of the Blue Jays. Rounding out the poll was Eureka College at sixth with 30 points, Blackburn College in seventh with 19 points and Iowa Wesleyan University in eighth place with 17 points.
