Howard Establishes Two Records at Jim Green Invite

Sophomore Taylor Howard established two records at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College on Saturday afternoon. The Westminster women's track and field team had three compete and tied for 22nd with two points.

Howard established the pole vaulting record after a 2.38-meter jump that landed her in eighth place, earning one point for the team. She also established the triple jump record, placing 13th with an 8.62-meter jump. Howard competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash as well. She finished the 200-meter dash in 30.21 and finished third in her heat in the 400-meter with a 1:06.78 time.

Sophomore Shannon McCaul earned the other point for the Blue Jay team with an eighth place finish in the one mile run. She crossed the finish line in 5:28.22. She also ran the 800-meter, finishing in 2:34.49.

Freshman Katie Herzing was the final competitor for the Blue Jays. She ran the 400-meter dash and finished in 1:21.10.

The women's track and field team continues their indoor season on Friday, February 19, at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge hosted by Mizzou.
