FULTON, Mo. - Westminster football scored once in a 28-6 loss to UMAC opponent Northwestern. 

The Blue Jays fall to 4-4 overall and 4-3 in the UMAC. Northwestern improves to 7-1 and 6-1 in the conference. 

"We never got in rhythm on offense and we got pushed around defensively," said Westminster Head Coach John Welty. "We were hoping to make it a better game but we never got on track offensively."

The Eagles got on the board early with a 14-yard touchdown run from BJ Foster on the first play of the game. 

Westminster answered immediately with a touchdown from Latif Adams. Adams has now rushed for a touchdown in five games this season. 

The rest of the game belonged to the Eagles, as they added one more touchdown at the end of the first quarter to make the score 14-6. 

"We had a couple good stops and we felt pretty good going in at the half," said Welty. "They made a couple of adjustments and pushed us around a little in the second half." 

Both teams were quiet until the third quarter when the Eagles added two more touchdowns, both on passes from Corban Halbur. 

Trent White went 19-32 for 195 yards passing for the Blue Jays, while adding on 32 yards rushing. 

"He makes something out of nothing," said Welty. "He got us a couple key first downs and kept drives going for us. Without him, I don't know where we'd be. He is very valuable to us both on and off the field." 

Adams had 18 carries for 81 yards. Kidd Sutherlin caught four passes for 55 yards to lead the team. Bret Robertson led the defense with eight tackles. 

Westminster returns to Priest Field next Saturday for senior day against College of St. Scholastica. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
