Four Touchdown Performance Earns Ellis UMAC Offensive Player of the Week

ST. PAUL, Minn.– Westminster sophomore quarterback Wyatt Ellis (Owensville, Mo. / Owensville) has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Ellis was responsible for four Blue Jay touchdowns in Saturday's comeback win over UMAC foe MacMurray. Ellis ran for 114 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries and completed 65.5% of his passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Ellis ran for a three-yard touchdown with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter to give the Blue Jays a 33-30 lead. This touchdown ended up being the game-winning score as the Westminster defense closed out the game with an interception.

With the Blue Jays in victory formation, Ellis went backwards for the first time all game, taking a knee three times to run out the clock and give Westminster a 33-30 UMAC win.

The Blue Jays remain at home to play Martin Luther on Saturday during Homecoming Weekend.
