Women's Tennis Goes 1-1 At Hendrix

The Westminster women's tennis team went 1-1 at Hendrix College to start the 2015 season. On Friday, they defeated the University of the Ozarks with a 5-1 decision. On Saturday, the fell 9-0 to Hendrix. 

On Friday, the Westminster Blue Jays went 2-1 in doubles play with wins from the first and third seeds. The duo of junior Jessica Klutts and freshman Payton Beeler in the one spot won 8-4. Junior Grace Sanford and sophomore Laura Kelly swept the three spot, 8-0.

Junior Laura Wiltshire swept the six spot with two scores of 6-0. Kelly and sophomore Ellen Woolsey won the final two spots in tie breakers. Kelly won the three spot with scores of 7-5, 2-6 and 10-8. Woolsey won in the fourth spot, 4-6, 6-2, 10-3. 

On Saturday, the Blue Jays were swept 9-0.

The Blue Jays will play Nebraska Wesleyan in Kansas City, Missouri next on Saturday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m.
