The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the 2015 Spring Academic All-Conference Teams on June 5. Westminster College led the SLIAC schools with 32 spring student-athletes named from the men’s and women’s tennis teams, men’s and women’s track and field teams, the golf team, the baseball team and the softball team.
The Blue Jays had eight repeat Academic All-Conference team members and senior Danielle Smulczenski was the only three sport All-Academic member in the SLIAC this year, marking just the fifth time in conference history. She also became the first student-athlete in conference history to earn nine All-Academic team awards during her career.
In order to be a member of the team, a student-athlete must hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore and have been enrolled in at least one full year at Westminster.
