Howard Breaks Record at Missouri Collegiate Challenge

Westminster's sophomore Taylor Howard broke the triple jump record at Friday's Missouri Collegiate Challenge hosted by Mizzou. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Howard was the first at Westminster to compete in the indoor triple jump, establishing the record on February 6 at the Jim Green Invite. On Friday, she jumped just shy of one meter more, resetting the record at 9.54-meters. She also ran the 400-meter dash and finished in sixth place with a time of 1:04.25.

Sophomore Shannon McCaul placed seventh out of 15 in the 800-meter run. She missed the Westminster record by .03 seconds, finishing the race in 2:27.42.

Freshman Jessie Kuykendall placed 11th out of 24 in the mile run, finishing with a time of 5:40.04. Freshman Katie Herzing ran the 400-meter dash with Howard and placed seventh with 1:17.74 time. 

The Blue Jays close out the 2016 indoor season on Saturday, February 27, at the Prin Multis hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Illniois.
