Women's Track & Field Places 10th at Snow Bird Open

The Westminster women's track and field team opened their indoor season with a 10th place finish out of 15 teams at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open on Saturday afternoon. 

Sophomore Shannon McCaul earned a total of six points for the Blue Jays. She placed fifth out of 24 in the 1-mile run with a final time of 5:38.88 and seventh in the 800-meter run with a final time of 2:32.84. 

Sophomore Taylor Howard earned the remaining four points for the team with her fifth place finish in the 400-meter dash. She crossed the finish line in 1:04.31. She finished the 800-meter run in 2:41.34 to place 16th and the 60-meter dash in 8.87 to place 20th. 

Freshman Jessie Kuykendall also competed in the mile run and 800-meter dash. She placed 14th out of 34 with a time of 2:40.49. In the mile run, she placed ninth out of 24 with a 5:48.99 finish time. 

The Blue Jays compete in the Prin Relays hosted by Principia College on Friday, January 29.
