Blue Jays Kick Off Spring Season At CMU OPEN

Fayette, MO 3/15/2025- The Westminster College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Fayette, Missouri to compete in the CMU Open to begin spring. The men's 4x100 relay team would place 3rd  and 4th, Moenasia Sidique placed 4th in the women's 400-meter dash. Makayla Cordes placed 4th in the women's 1500-meter run. A strong showing for the Blue Jays Track and Field teams in their 1st meet of the spring.

The Blue Jays will return on Saturday, March 22nd, when they head to Rolla, Missouri, to compete in the Miner Open.

Women's Results:

Moenaisa Sidique placed 4th in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.67. She placed 9th in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 28.03.

Makayla Cordes made her spring season debut by placing 4th in the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 5:26.80. She placed 7th in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.81.

Emma Braby placed 23rd in the women's shot put with a distance of 8.98 meters. She also placed 12th in the women's javelin throw, with a distance of 27.42 meters.

Illana Heffer placed 25th in the women's shot put with a distance of 8.20 meters.

Madison Kempker placed 23rd in the women's javelin throw with a distance of 20.35 meters.

 

Men's Results:

Dailian Brown placed 9th in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 52.65 seconds.

Noah Ottinger placed 20th in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 54.98 seconds.

Marcus Garrett placed 11th in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.56 seconds.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team A placed 3rd with a time of 43.81 seconds. That team consisted of Ashton Wheeler, Weston Jennings, Mos Flowers, and Dailan Brown. The B team placed 4th with a time of 49.74 and that team consisted of Isaac Armour-Dozier, Noah Ottinger, Marcus Garrett, Amir Martin.

Mos Flowers placed 6th in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.14 meters.

Amir Martin placed 16th in the men's long jump with a distance of 5.63 meters. He would place 8th in the men's triple jump with a distance of 11.87 meters.

Weston Jennings placed 19th in the men's long jump with a distance of 5.36 meters.
