Kuykendall Wins Third Straight SLIAC Championship

LITCHFIELD, Ill. - Jessie Kuykendall makes history in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, winning and unprecedented third straight championship at the Litchfield Country Club.

Prior to Kuykendall, five runners had recorded two consecutive SLIAC Championship wins.

After taking a month off due to injury, Kuykendall knew she had to manage her race according to her opponents rather than pacing against her own times.

She stayed in the pack for the first mile, breaking out for a lead in mile two. She held a comfortable lead for the final stretch, finishing the 6K in 23 minutes and one second, 30 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Charlotte Blair won the All-Sportsmanship award for Westminster, finishing 24th with a time of 26:48.73.

Sam Moore was the top finisher on the men's side, completing the 8K in 29 minutes even in 24th place.

Joe Labitska won the All-Sportsmanship award for Westminster, finishing 32nd with a time of 31:01.03. Brian Sellenriek and Bill Murphy rounded out the final two for the Blue Jays, finishing in 52nd and 53rd.
