SLIAC Preseason Poll Notched Westminster Baseball Second in SLIAC West Division

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Preseason Poll notched Westminster baseball second in the SLIAC West Division. 

The Westminster Blue Jays return 17 players all together including six starters and six pitchers. The Blue Jays will be led by the returning three ABCA All-Region Second Team members: Tyler Branneky, Will Miller and Deion Hughes. Branneky and Miller also earned a spot on the D3Baseball.com All-Region team. Branneky, the 2015 SLIAC Player of the Year, led the 2015 squad with a .413 batting average, set the season RBI record with 45 and tied the career triples record with six of his eight coming from the 2015 season. Miller finished with a perfect 6-0 record on the mound with a 1.69 ERA, and Hughes completed the 2015 season with a 7-3 record on the mound and a 1.70 ERA.

The Blue Jays bring in eight newcomers to the 2016 season that spans over all positions on the field.

The Blue Jays are slated to open the 2016 season on February 20 at the University of the Ozarks (Ark.). Their home-opener is set for March 5 with a double-header versus Grinnell College.

The Blue Jays finished last season with a 24-12 overall record. They placed second in west division with a 16-6 record.
