Roach Tallies First Career Hat Trick in Westminster Lacrosse Loss

FULTON, Mo. - Julia Roach scored three of the four goals for Westminster lacrosse in the 17-4 loss to Dubuque.

The Blue Jays fall to 0-2 on the year.

After falling behind 8-0 in the first half, the Blue Jays stepped up offensively to score four goals in the second half. Roach scored three while Daisy Humsey added a goal, her second of the year.

Roach led the team in almost every offensive category, including ground balls with seven and shots with five.

Humsey added two shots while Kaely Fitterling added five ground balls.

"It was exciting to see improvement from our first game," said Westminster Head Coach Kristi Crowley. "While we still have more to learn and improve on, we are going in the right direction. The team worked hard and played as one. I look forward to continuing our growth as individuals and as a team."

Westminster goes on the road to face Monmouth Sunday.
