Westminster Men’s Soccer Chosen to Finish Seventh in SLIAC

ST. LOUIS – The Blue Jay men's soccer team has been voted to finish seventh in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference by the conference's coaches.

The Blue Jay defense will be anchored by junior defender Joshua Udinyiwe (Boonville, Mo. / Boonville). Udinyiwe started all of the team's 17 games last season was named third team All-SLIAC.

Other key returners for Westminster are junior forward Patrick Wisnewski (St. Louis, Mo. / John F. Kennedy Catholic), who led the team in points with 12 and sophomore forward Matthew Schulte (Jefferson City / Helias), who tied Wisnewski for the team led in goals with three. Junior forwards Justin Gerdiman (Camdenton, Mo. / Camdenton), Brandon Rettke (Columbia, Mo. / Rock Bridge) and senior midfielder Jephte Ngendo (Goma, Republic of the Congo), all of whom had five points last season, also look to contribute to the Blue Jays offensive attack.

The Blue Jays open their season with Friday night match at Wartburg on August 30.
