FULTON, Mo. - Westminster men's soccer played close and fast-paced match with Nebraska Wesleyan which eventually ended in a 1-0 loss for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays fall to 0-5 on the year with the loss.
"It was a really good effort here tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "It's always tough playing back-to-back games. I thought we had some really good moments in possession but just lacked a little drive and aggression in the final third to put one in the back of the net."
The Prairie Wolves scored the lone goal of the game in the 17th minute. The defenses for both teams resilient the rest of the match, allowing just 11 shots total in the second half, four less than the total shots allowed in the first half.
The Blue Jay attack was a balanced effort, with four different Westminster players recording a shot on goal and seven different players with a shot in the game. Despite those efforts, Westminster was unable to find the back of the net.
Chase Vogt played all 90 minutes in goal, facing eight shots and saving seven.
The Blue Jays stay at home to face Simson Saturday at 2 p.m.
