Blue Jays Fall 3-0 To Gorloks In SLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals

St. Louis, Mo 10/31/2023- The Westminster College men's soccer team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Webster University Gorloks in the SLIAC Tournament quarterfinals. The Gorloks would score right before halftime to take a 1-0 lead at the break. They would score two more goals in the second half and win the game 3-0 to advance to the tournament semifinals. The Blue Jays season ends, and they finished the season with a 5-10-2 record overall and finished 4-3-2 in the conference. 

The Blue Jays had a good chance on goal in the 15th minute when Niklas Olsson fired a shot towards the bottom left of the goal, but it was saved by the Gorlok goalkeeper. They would play scoreless soccer for the next forty-three minutes. Webster would score the go-ahead goal in the 43rd minute to take a 1-0 lead going into halftime. 

Niklas Olsson and Francois Moua would put two shots on goal early in the second half, attempting to score the equalizer. The Gorloks scored again in the 65th minute to make it 2-0, and then scored their last goal in the 88th minute for a 3-0 victory, advancing to the SLIAC tournament semi-finals.
