The Westminster men's tennis team dropped their regular season finale to Missouri Valley on Tuesday afternoon, 9-0. The Blue Jays end regular season with a 4-5 record.
In doubles play, the no. one team, sophomore Adam Fuchs and senior Kyle Collins, dropped their match 8-3. Sophomore Pete Hasenmueller and junior Grant Peterson as the no. two doubles team lost to their opponent 8-5, and the freshmen Brendan Bosewell and Jacques Erasmus duo lost the no. three doubles, 8-2.
In singles play, Collins came close to winning a set, but dropped the match in the no. two spot, 7-6, 6-1. Fuchs in the no. one spot fell 6-2, 6-1, and Hasenmueller in the no. three singles fell 6-1, 6-4. Peterson, Bosewell and Erasmus suffered 6-0, 6-0 losses in the no. four-six spots.
The Blue Jays begin post season play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference (SLIAC) Tournament on Friday, April 22, at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo. They enter the tournament as the no. three seed and will face the no. two seed, Principia, at 11:00 am.
