Blue Jays Compete In Miner Invitational

Rolla, MO 3/25/2023- The Westminster College men's track and field team competed in the Miner Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri on Saturday. They would compete against schools in all levels of the NCAA and NAIA from across the state of Missouri and Illinois.

Elijah Teal (Memphis, TN / Whitehaven) had a time of 11.28 in the 100-meter dash, good for a 13th-place finish. Teal placed 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.13.

Ben Wallace (Chicago, IL / Thornton Fractional South) ran a 12.48 in the 100-meter dash and finished 47th overall. Wallace also ran in the 200-meter dash and ran a 26.01, placing 54th.

Tanner Gillaspy (Edina, MO / Knox County) ran in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.13 and placed 24th.  Gillaspy tried his hand at the javelin throw, recording 34.54 meters distance. He placed 24th overall.

Michael Giles (Pleasant Hill, IL / Pleasant Hill) competed in the 800-meter run and placed 21st with a time of 2:05.98. Giles would also run in the 1500-meter run and finished with a time of 4:31.29, placing 58th overall.

Lane Martin (Lexington, MO / Lexington) finished 10th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:45.92

Rothman Harris III (Farmington, MO / Farmington) finished 14th in the javelin throw with a distance of 41.04 meters

Bryce Hale (High Point, MO / Russellville) also competed in the javelin throw and placed 18th with a 38.99-meter throw.
