Greenville, IL 4/15/2023- The Westminster College men's track and field team finished 13th in the Greenville Invitational, hosted by Greenville University in Greenville, Illinois. They would record 10 team points. There were 15 schools competing, including six SLIAC schools.
Senior Rothman Harris ( Farmington, MO / Farmington) competed in the javelin throw and would finish in second place with a distance of 42.14 meters.
Freshman Sam Hoffman finished 12th in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters.
Tanner Gillaspy (Edina, MO / Knox County) competed in the javelin throw, and 400-meter dash, and was on the 4x100-meter relay team. He would have a distance of 33.43 meters in the javelin throw and finished in 6th place. He would finish second in his heat, recording a time of 54.60 in the 400-meter dash.
Travis Bieg (Villa Ridge, MO / Washington) won his heat in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.21, good for 7th place. He would also compete in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 9th with a time of 1:06.70.
Michael Giles (Pleasant Hill, IL / Pleasant Hill) got 6th in his heat of the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:18.48. He would finish 2nd in his heat for the 800-meter run and finish with a time of 2:07.49 but was not able to qualify for the final.
Ben Wallace (Chicago, IL / Thornton Fractional South) competed in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 4x100 relay team. He would have a time of 12.27 in the 100-meter dash and finish 6th in his heat. He recorded a time of 25.83 in the 200 meters and finished 6th in his heat.
Elijah Teal (Memphis, TN / Whitehaven) competed in the 100-meter dash and was on the 4x100 relay team. He placed third in his heat in the 100-meter dash and narrowly missed the final with a time of 11.07.
Lane Martin (Lexington, MO/ Lexington) got 8th in the steeplechase with a time of 11:56.53
The Blue Jay 4x100 meter relay team consisted of Wallace, Gillaspy, Aaron Hurt (Center view, MO/ Crest Ridge), and Teal. They would finish in third place with a time of 46.13.
