Westminster Women's Basketball Adds Reece Twins to 18-19 Roster

Westminster Women's Basketball Head Coach James Arnold announced the addition of Abbie and Corrie Reece of Cape Central High School (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) to the 18-19 roster.

"I had a chance to first see the twins play a couple years ago and knew they were going to play college basketball somewhere," said Arnold.  "We are super excited to say that place is Westminster College."

Abbie is a 5'8 guard/forward combo, and her accolades include being named to the All-District team , the All-SEMO team, and the All-Missourian team as a junior, including being named the Varsity MVP for her squad. Her sophomore season, she was also named the Varsity MVP of her team. Along with her numerous accomplishments as a basketball player, Abbie was also a member of the A Honor Roll as a junior.

"Abbie can score in a variety of ways, rebound, defend, and is a really good passer.  She will play both wing positions for us," said Arnold.

While at Westminster, Abbie will go into sports management and coaching.

Corrie is a 5'6 point guard. As a junior, she was name the Offensive Player of the Year, and as a sophomore, the Most Improved Player of the Year.  She's also been a member of the B Honor Roll for all three years of high school.

"Corrie is a smooth lefty point guard with good size who can score but is always assignment sound and can get the ball to the right person at the right time," said Arnold.

"They are similar in that they both just ooze toughness and are basketball junkies," he continued. "Corrie and Abbie are going to do great things on and off the floor here at Westminster.  I am so thankful they chose to be Blue Jays!"
