Grace Archambault was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year while Kendahl Adams earned All-Conference First Team honors for Westminster women's basketball.

"I am thrilled for Kendahl, Grace, and Mikalyn to be recognized for their individual achievements," said Westminster Head Coach James Arnold. 

Archambault is just the third Newcomer of the Year award winner for the women's basketball program and the first since Aleshia Renkemeyer in the 2002-03 season. She led all freshman in the league in rebounding and blocked shots and was fourth in scoring amongst SLIAC freshman. 

Archambault was third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.3 points per game, and led the team in rebounding with 9.6 per game, which was second in the conference. She was also named to the All-Defensive team and the All-Conference Third Team, leading the team in blocks with 1.3 per game. She tallied five double-doubles on the season.

"Grace had a really special season," said Arnold. "All freshman have growing pain, but her was as limited as I've ever seen. She improved on both sides of the ball as the season went along and she is very deserving of her honors."

Adams was named to the All-Conference first team. She led the team in scoring with 19.5 points per game, including 20.2 points per game in conference play, which is second in the league. She also pulled down 8.3 rebounds per game for fifth in the conference and dished out 3.8 assists per game, also fifth in the conference. Adams also led the conference in made freethrows and was a four-time SLIAC Player of the Week.

"There have been a lot of really good players in our program's history and for Kendahl to put together one of the finest seasons in school history is extremely impressive," said Arnold. "She is an MVP type of player, and All-American caliber performer, and was big for our team all year long."

She recorded nine double-doubles on the year and broke the single season scoring record against Eureka with two games left to play in the regular season. She's pulled down 208 rebounds this season to break the single season rebounding record.

Mikalyn Callahan was named to the All-Sportsmanship team for Westminster for her exemplary display of sportsmanship this season.

"Callahan grew so much this year," said Arnold. "We asked her to move positions and she didn't just do it, she thrived in her new role. She was one of the team's captains and always competed with tremendous class and a great attitude."

"It's always tough for a coach to see others on your team who could easily have been on All-Conference squads," continued Arnold of his talented team. "I think MJ (Mirrakohl Johnson), Kelsey Ray, and Callahan were all deserving as well but it does speak volumes for the number of really talented players in our conference."
