Fulton, MO 12/10/2022- The Westminster College women's basketball team hosted the Central Christian College Saints in the last home game before the holiday break. The Jays would cruise to an 86-37 victory, their second straight win. Westminster improves to 3-5 on the season and the Saints fall to 3-7.

The Jays' defense smothered the Saints as they played full-court press defense for two and half quarters and forced 30 turnovers to give them the big lead. They held Central College to seven points in the first, nine points in the second, eight points in the third, and thirteen points in the fourth quarter. Westminster scored 26 fastbreak points and would go a perfect twelve for twelve from the charity stripe. They would also dominate the glass hauling in 52 total rebounds in the game and 27 of them were offensive rebounds that led to 21 second-chance points.

It was an all-around dominant performance by the Blue Jays who have struggled some this season. Annette Ramirez (Sarcoxie, MO / Sarcoxie) led the offense with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. She was also three for three from the free-throw line. Shelby Kurtz (Camdenton, MO/Camdenton) had 14 points and four assists and went 4-5 from three. Maile Peck (Marshfield, MO / Marshfield) cashed in 10 points and would go 2-2 from the line. Natalie Archambault (Eureka, Mo / -) had 9 points along with 10 rebounds, one point shy of recording her first double-double of the season.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Monday, December 12th, when they travel to Illinois to take on Knox College.
