GREENVILLE, Ill.- Hannah Wisnewski scored her first goal of the season with a game-winner in overtime to secure the 1-0 SLIAC victory over Greenville.
The Blue Jays improve to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in the SLIAC. Greenville falls to 0-4 in the conference.
"I'm incredibly proud of the discipline, focus, and teamwork the ladies displayed tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson. "It was a challenge to stay the course and continue to go together. They rose to the occasion and finished a tough battle."
Westminster provided the only offense in the first half, recording three shots. Both teams entered the locker rooms after a defensive battle in a scoreless tie.
The Panthers found their stride in the second half and added four shots, but none found the back of the net and led to overtime.
It didn't take Wisnewski long to end the match, scoring in the 95th minute on a ball from Paige Townsend for her first goal of the season.
The Blue Jays return home Saturday for 1 p.m. matchup against SLIAC opponent Iowa Wesleyan.
