ST. LOUIS - Westminster women's soccer was not able to overcome Webster in a rainy, delayed match that ended 4-2 in favor of the Gorloks.

Due to storms and lightning, the match ended in the 79th minute. Westminster finishes the season 10-7. The Gorloks improve to 11-8 on their way to the SLIAC title match.

Webster struck first just 31 seconds into the match, but the Blue Jays were able to lock their defense in until they evened up the score in the 31st minute on a goal from Paige Townsend

Both teams went into the half tied 1-1 amidst waiting out a lightning delay.

After resuming play, Webster added a goal to go up 2-1 in the 66th minute, but it was immediately answered by Morgan Henry, who netted a ball to keep the score tied at two.

Webster then secured the win with two back-to-back goals in the 67th minute. After playing for ten more minutes, the game was called due to weather conditions.

"I'm proud of the team and the program for the fight we put in," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson. "It was an incredibly challenging way to end the season without being able to play a full 90 minutes. I wouldn't have wanted to go into battle with anyone else (but this team)."
