FULTON, Mo. - Scoring within the ten seconds of the game, the Blue Jays carried that momentum throughout play, beating the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers 10-0.

The Blue Jays improve to 4-2 in conference play and 6-6 overall. The Tigers fall to 0-5 in conference and 0-13 overall.

Gracie Koonce, who scored the first goal, added another one three minutes later when she intercepted a goal kick and easily put in into the back of the net. Morgan Henry followed Koonce's footsteps by stealing a goal kick of her own and scoring another goal for the Blue Jays.

This fast paced offense for the Blue Jays persisted throughout the first half as they continually moved the ball well and found different ways to get the ball passed the goalkeeper, leading to a 10-0 advantage at halftime.

Defensively, the Blue Jays were also very strong and consistent. The ball always seemed to be on the Tigers' half of the field with a flock of Blue Jays surrounding all of their players.

Ellen Woolsey and Sarah Cradick each played a half of shutout soccer as the goalkeeper, as the 10-0 halftime score held up until the end of the game.

"I'm proud of our girls for working hard today," said Head Coach Jen Dyson, appreciating the offensive and defensive efforts of the team.

Overall, the Blue Jays offense was simply too much for the Tigers to handle. With a total of thirteen shots coming from a wide variety of players, the Blue Jays constantly had pressure on the Tigers' defense.

This upcoming week on October 20th, the Blue Jays travel to Illinois College for a non-conference test at 5p.m.
