Overtime Thriller Results in Loss for Blue Jays

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Westminster women's soccer took Spalding to double overtime before dropping the match 1-0.

The Blue Jays fall to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference while the Eagles improve to 5-4-1 and 1-1 in the SLIAC. 

After over 100 minutes of scoreless soccer, Dee Dee Sliter tallied the lone goal of the game in the 103rd minute after netting a cross that deflected to the back of the box. 

Hannah Wisnewski added three shots for Westminster. The Blue Jays trailed 21-13 in shots. 

Sarah Cradick took the loss in goal for Westminster after playing the second half and both overtime periods, but made five saves.

Westminster returns home for Homecoming Wednesday against Webster and Saturday against Eureka. Both matches begin at 5 p.m.
