Blue Jays Place 13th In The CMU Invite

Fayette, Mo. 4/2/2022- The Westminster College women's track and field team traveled to Fayette once again to compete in the Central Missouri University Invitational. They would place thirteenth overall out of twenty-one competing schools, scoring 15 team points. 

Avylina Powell-Qualo (Republic, Mo. / Republic) placed second overall in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters. She was also apart of the women's 4x100 meter relay alongside Gracie Hamrick (Versailles, Mo. / Versailles), Moenasia Sidique (Mexico,Mo / Mexico), and Kelsie Speichinger (Mendon, Mo / Northwestern) who finished third overall with a time of 52.35.

Sidique would also compete in the 400-meter dash and placed eighth overall with a time of 1:03.25.

Hamrick and Speichinger would compete in the women's 100-meter dash. Hamrick finished 28th with a time of 13.93. Speichinger finished 30th with a time of 13.99.

Celena Weber ( Desloge, Mo. / North County R1) and Emily Nelson (St. Louis, Mo. / Timberland) competed in the women's shot put. Weber placed 34th with a throw of 6.91 meters. Nelson finished 35th with a throw of 6.49 meters.

The Blue Jays will be back on the track on April 9th when they compete in the McKendree Bearcat Classic.
