Senior Brier Skogsberg beat out 32 racers spanning six schools at the Principia Invite Friday evening to win her first collegiate race, helping the Westminster women's cross country team to a first place victory. The Westminster Blue Jays placed first out of four placed teams in the 4K race with 32 points.
Skogsberg won her first collegiate race with her 16:15.72 time, and the Blue Jays took the top three points. Sophomore Taylor Howard took fourth place in the race, earning the team two points with her 16:45.66 finish. Freshman Jessie Kuykendall finished just seconds after, placing fifth with a time of 16:48.64. She earned the team three points.
Sophomore Madison Zack placed 13th with a time of 19:03.98, earning seven points. Freshman Cora Panettiere placed 26th, rounding out the Blue Jay's points for a total of 32.
The Blue Jays next compete in the St. Louis U. Invite on Friday, September 11.
