GALESBURG, Ill. - Knox handed Westminster men's soccer a 2-0 loss to complete the Blue Jays' opening road trip.

Westminster falls to 0-3 to open the season.

"We had some little stretches where we look really good," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "Then we make a small error and we lose that mentality for a stretch. We have to find ways to be more engaged for longer periods of time in a match. Once we start to do that we'll be able to grab control of a game. It's a learning process and I'm confident that we'll get there."

The Prairie Fire scored in the 19th minute to open the scoring, but Westminster held Knox to just one goal in the first half while allowing 14 shots.

Knox scored again in the 75th minute to go up 2-0 and the Blue Jays were unable to recover from the two goal deficit.

Westminster recorded six shots to the Prairie Fire's 23. Six different Blue Jays recorded a shot, including shots on goal from Brandon Rettke, Phillip Udinyiwe, and Jacob Skaggs

Connor Bandre' played all 90 minutes in goal, making 10 saves.

Westminster returns home to open the season on the brand new turf field, facing Illinois College at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
