Westminster Men's Soccer Shuts Out MacMurray

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Brent Lampen's lone goal on the day would be all the Westminster College men's soccer team would need to get past MacMurray College, 1-0, on the road Saturday at Jacksonville, Ill. Lampen's unassisted goal came at the 77:32 mark of the second period. 

The Blue Jays improve to 3-9-1 overall with the win and 2-2-1 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. 

Junior Connor Bandre' turned back three shots on goals for Westminster in the shutout win.

"We did a good job here today in dealing with some tough field conditions," Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla said. "Some players really stepped up big for us and we got a big win."

Westminster tallied 14 shots in the contest compared to four for the Highlanders, who fall to 0-11-1 on the season; 0-4 in the SLIAC. 

The Blue Jays return to action on Wednesday when they travel to St. Louis to face Fontbonne.
