2/23/25 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's volleyball team took the court for two matches on February 21, securing a straight-set victory over St. Norbert before falling in four sets to Lakeland.

In the first match, Westminster put together a strong performance, sweeping St. Norbert 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-23). Derrick Turner led the offensive charge with 13 kills and a .346 hitting percentage, while Lucas Brown was dominant at the net, tallying nine kills on a .529 clip and contributing seven block assists. Jake Schawo-McAlister facilitated the offense with 26 assists, and the Blue Jays' defense held firm to secure the win.

In their second match of the day, Westminster faced a tough Lakeland squad and fell 3-1 (16-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-25). Turner again paced the attack with 13 kills, while Aidan Ortmann added 11 kills and 12 points. Schawo-McAlister distributed 34 assists, and Ryan Rhodes anchored the defense with 10 digs. Despite taking the third set, the Blue Jays couldn't overcome Lakeland's offensive pressure.

With their record now at 10-10, the Blue Jays will look to regroup and refocus ahead of their upcoming conference matchup against Greenville on February 26. As the season progresses, consistency will be key for Westminster as they aim to sharpen their execution and build momentum heading into the latter part of the schedule.
