Blue Jays Defeat Greenville in Four Sets

2/26/25 Fulton, MO - Westminster men's volleyball continued its strong play, rallying past Greenville in four sets (22-25, 29-27, 25-15, 25-11) to improve to 11-10 on the season. After a tight opening two frames, the Blue Jays found their rhythm and dominated the final two sets to secure the victory. 

Derrick Turner led the attack with 12 kills, adding two aces and three digs to his stat line. Aidan Ortmann contributed six kills, 10 digs, and two aces, while James Ormsby provided a spark with six kills on an efficient .273 hitting percentage. Jake Schawo-McAlister guided the offense with 34 assists while also recording four kills and four digs. Luke Rohrbach made his presence felt at the net, tallying four kills, a solo block, and six block assists, while Khalil Peterson added five kills and two digs. 

Westminster battled through a tough second set, prevailing 29-27 to even the match before taking full control in the third and fourth sets. The Blue Jays' defensive efforts limited Greenville to just 15 and 11 points in the final two frames, sealing the win with strong blocking and consistent serving. 

Westminster now looks ahead to its next matchup, a home contest against Culver-Stockton College on March 4 at 7 p.m., where they will aim to keep their momentum rolling.
