Westminster Volleyball Completes Weekend Tournament at Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. - Westminster volleyball fell twice to complete the weekend tournament at Nebraska Wesleyan.

The Blue Jays fall to 2-7 on the season. 

Westminster opened the day by playing a close match with Simpson, eventually falling 3-2. 

Simpson came out by winning the first two sets, but the Blue Jays stormed back to even the score at 2-2 anf force a fifth set. 

A close fifth match ended in a 15-13 Simpson victory and the Blue Jays narrowly escaping the win. 

Elizabeth Kelley led the team in kills for the first time this season with 13, and added three solo blocks. 

Teresa Becker added a season-high 42 assists in the match, and Bridget Ringwald added 22 assists. 

In the last match of the tournament, Buena Vista defeated Westminster 3-0. Westminster put up their best fight in the second set, falling 25-21. 

Kelley and Ashley Kistaitis led the squad in kills with 11 and 10, respectively. 

The Blue Jays return home and continue in conference play with a matchup against Greenville Wednesday at 7 p.m.
