Westminster Volleyball Sweeps Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The Westminster volleyball team defeated Eureka in three sets on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays improve to 13-7 on the season and 11-2 in SLIAC play.

The Blue Jays went up 8-1 early in the first set and never looked back. They held the lead for the entire set and won 25-15. Ashley Kistaitis had seven kills in the set and Westminster hit .327 as team.

Westminster won the second set 25-12 and took the third set by that same score to win the match 3-0.

Kistaitis hit .469 and finished the match with 16 kills. Erica Schrader registered a game-high 13 digs for the Blue Jays. Schrader, Eryka Wanyonyi and Natalie Needy each had two services aces for Westminster. Teresa Becker led all players in digs with 31.

The Blue Jays will host a quad match on Saturday with games against Fontbonne (10 a.m.) and Principia (4 p.m.).
